January 2010 What do you love about being a 24-7 Youth Worker? What was your reason for getting into 24-7 Youth Work? What would be your greatest piece of advice to young people? 1. Success isn’t the same as winning or passing.

Sharing the journey with students, who, with good support can go far, is something I love.
I’m a bit of a veteran at youth work volunteering for 7 years and working as a youth worker for CDN Trust for 5 years before joining up with the 24-7 team. 24-7 is a cool way to be with young people in their space and help them set their sights beyond their comfort zones.
Good advice at the right time can be great; otherwise it’s a vapour in the wind, so here’s four bits I just came up with in no particular order so hopefully at least one of them can be useful.
2. Knowing who you are matters more than what you do or what you’ve done.
3. With freedom comes responsibility.
4. Life is a gift. Love it, share it and enjoy it!
