How long have you been a 24-7 Youth Worker?
Start 2008, but have been involved in High school since 2006.
What do you love about being a 24-7 Youth Worker?
Getting alongside Young people where they are at. Spending quality time with youth and having the opportunity to speak into their lives.
What was your reason for getting into 24-7 Youth Work?
The Money…..Not likely!! I got into it because I have a heart for young people and enjoy the challenge of getting alongside them and seeing them grow and develop.
What would be your greatest piece of advice to young people?
I don’t know if this is the greatest piece of advice I could give but I would say that they are loved and accepted the way they are. So many young people struggle with self image because our culture tells them they have to be perfect. I would tell them it’s a lie and that they should be comfortable in their own skin. They are great the way they are.

Favourite Movie?
Anything Disney, animated hilarity laced with serious life lessons is what gets my brain ticking. Your never to old for a good ol' Disney movie.
2010 is my first year and the first of the new decade so Im looking forward to starting it off with a bang.
What do you love about being a 24-7 Youth Worker?
Well seen as I havent really started yet I cant really say there is one thing I love but knowing what I do about 24-7 I know that for me the thing I will love the most is helping and supporting the young people in their struggles as teenagers. Youth Workers were my saving grace in Year 12 & 13 and I'm really hoping to impact some youth in the same way that my life was changed by the Youth Workers in my time. To know that you have changed/helped one youth's life is the greatest reward at the end of the day and what I hope to get out of the experience
What was your reason for getting into 24-7 Youth Work?
Primarily to give back. One paticular 24-7 Youth Worker in particular, James Coats had a massive impact on me in Year 12 and it almost seems like an injustuce to the programme to not give a little back of what I took from the past two years hanging out with him. I look up to him and aspire to be in a simmilar position as he is in terms of his influence and likeability from the Youth. I really want to be as good a role model to the kids I'm helping as he was to me. Like I said before the reward is in knowing that you helped to change a youth's life for the better. One day I hope to see the kids I mentor step up to the plate and take on the task of being a 24-7 Youthworker, that would be awesome.
What would be your greatest piece of advice to young people?
Never become a second rate version of anyone, aspire to only be the best you you can be. There is no one in the world like you and there is a reason for that, were all made to serve our own unique purpose in life and you will never know what that is if you live in the shadow of someone elses legacy. Thanks for that one James :)
