Favourite Movie? I had to think pretty hard about this one but I think Lord of the Rings would have to win!
How long have you been a 24-7 Youth Worker? Started in 2006
What do you love about being a 24-7 Youth Worker?
I just love being part of the young peoples worlds. Just doing life with them and watching them
change, grow and learn to believe in themselves and who they were created to
be.
What was your reason for getting into 24-7 Youth Work?
It was just kind of a natural progression from the working locally in the community to working in the school.
What would be your greatest piece of advice to young people?
Umm... that's pretty hard, I guess I love little quotes and this seems to be one of my favourites at the moment...
"Some people walk in the rain, others just get wet"
-Roger Miller
This is my most favourite quote by Marianne Williamson and used by Nelson
Mandela in his Inauguration Speech in 1994...
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, but our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And
as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

Favourite Movie? Kung Fu Panda
How long have you been a 24-7 Youth Worker? Started in 2003
What do you love about being a 24-7 Youth Worker?
I love seeing and helping young people succeed when they think that the situation is impossible. I love journeying with the young people and watching them grow into individuals with a new found belief in themselves. They can then see the world as an opportunity not a threat.
What was your reason for getting into 24-7 Youth Work?
I wanted to make a difference in young people's lives. I had a couple of influential people who helped me through during school. I wouldn't be who I am today without their support. I chose to become a 24-7 Youth Worker because I wanted to make an impact on other young people.
What would be your greatest piece of advice to young people?
Life is not a dress rehearsal and we only get one chance at it. With the time we have, make your life extraordinary!!!
Name: Jess Meikle
Favourite Movie? Anything with Hilary Duff is alright in my books :)
How long have you been a 24-7 Youth Worker? I have just started this year 2009.
What do you love about being a 24-7 Youth Worker?
I love getting along side different people, hearing their stories and building relationships with them. I am looking forward to seeing young people grow and develop and realise the amount of gifts and talents they have to offer!!
What was your reason for getting into 24-7 Youth Work?
Because I want to see young people develop into the best people they can be and reach their full potential and I have seen the impact getting along side someone can have and I hope I can do this for others...
What is your greatest bit of advice?
There are many wonderful things that will never be done if you do not do them. Charles D. Gill
I think this means take every opportunity that is placed before you because you never know what you might be missing out on or where those opportunities might lead you.
